iOS 26 and watchOS 26 are currently in developer beta, but Steve Moser from MacRumors has discovered some Health app code snippets that may suggest an upcoming feature.
An illustration buried in the code depicts an Apple Watch with the number ’84’ along with portions of a circle chart that represents the sleep stages that are tracked by the Apple Watch. As a refresher:
- Orange represents time awake
- Lighter blue corresponds with REM sleep
- Darker blue corresponds with Core or Deep sleep
The Watch icon is flanked with multiple sleep-related icons, and since Apple named the illustration “Watch Focus Score”, this suggests that we may see a new feature that will show some kind of sleep-related score as an indicator for how well you’ll be able to get function through the day based on how much sleep you get the previous night.
Apple has heavily been focusing on several feature to improve your overall health, and sleep is very vital for everyone. Apple has been adding many sleep-related features such as sleep apnea notifications for Apple Watch Series 9 or later and Apple Watch Ultra 2. That’s why Apple is adding things like fast-charging, especially for Series 10, so you can use your Apple Watch to track your sleeping.
This “Watch Focus Score” could make it ways in either watchOS 26 or when Apple introduces Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3.
