Blame Weibo for promoting Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip7 on Apple’s Support account

Everyone can make mistakes, right? That’s actually what happened with China’s Weibo on what may be the most bizarre and hilarious mistake to occur in the tech world.

Yesterday, Apple’s official Support account on China’s Weibo accidentally posted a promotional trailer for Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip7 as its latest foldable from that company. Just think about it, Apple promoting one of its biggest competitor’s foldable, which I’d find it humorous since we’ve been anticipating the announcement for Apple’s upcoming foldable to go after Samsung’s. There was even a legal battle between those two companies. Ironically, Apple has had Samsung as its suppliers for its components across all of its devices such as displays.

However, according to the MacRumors forums, it turned out that this error wasn’t Apple’s fault, but rather, it might be a culprit on the Weibo client side. Even an Apple spokesperson made this statement:

Apple Support has only posted Apple content. We are working with Weibo to understand how this happened.

Still, the timing was kinda ironic, but we should see Apple’s first foldable around September 2026 along with the iPhone 18 lineup. Some features that are rumored include: a crease-free 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch outer display, a stronger titanium chassis, dual rear camera, and Touch ID.
