According to a new leak, the upcoming iPhone 17e — expected to launch in the first half of 2026 — could feature Apple’s signature Dynamic Island design.

The leak comes from a reliable source on Weibo, Digital Chat Station, who claims that the iPhone 17e will include the Dynamic Island cutout on its display. This pill-shaped area not only houses the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors but also interacts with iOS to display useful information like music controls, timers, incoming calls, and notifications.

However, the leaker also suggests that the iPhone 17e will retain a 60 Hz display. While the Dynamic Island would bring a modern look, the standard refresh rate indicates Apple is still reserving smoother 120 Hz ProMotion technology for its higher-end models. Under the hood, the iPhone 17e is expected to use the A19 chip, which would be powerful enough for daily tasks and the latest iOS updates.

The addition of the Dynamic Island could make the iPhone 17e more appealing. The feature has become a visual trademark of modern iPhones, and bringing it to a lower price tier would make the device feel much more premium. It also fits Apple’s broader approach of gradually introducing flagship features to more affordable models — a move that strengthens its lineup against Android rivals in markets like India, where price-sensitive buyers are a key demographic.
