Apple has officially announced that The Rest Is History is the recipient of the 2025 Apple Podcasts Award for Show of the Year. This award recognizes podcasts that demonstrate exceptional quality and cultural impact in the world of audio entertainment.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for the show, as it is the first UK-based podcast to earn the title of Apple Podcasts Show of the Year.
Since its launch in November 2020, The Rest Is History has become a globally popular show. The podcast is hosted by acclaimed British historians Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook.
The duo is known for their intelligent, witty, and engaging approach, which allows them to explore history’s most significant moments—from the rise of the Roman Empire to the sinking of the Titanic—and make complex subjects accessible to millions of listeners worldwide.
