Apple officially launched its Apple Creator Studio yesterday, and it appears to be a great value, especially if you are a student or educator. While Apple is offering a 1-month free trial for all users, it appears that Apple is generous enough to offer a 3-month free trial, even if you own an older device. Let me explain:
At launch, Apple provides two free trial promotions for users:
- 1-month free trial for all users, or
- 3-month free trial “with the purchase of a new Mac or qualifying iPad.”
I was personally interested in trying out Apple Creator Studio, so I downloaded the entire bundle last night on both my Mac and my iPad. When I opened up Final Cut Pro on either my Mac or my iPad, I was greeted by this splendid message, as shown in the screenshot below:
“Your new device includes 3 months of Creator Studio for free.”
Now, the iPad I currently own to install Creator Studio is the M4 iPad Pro, and I’ve had that device for over six months, so I guess this would make sense considering it’s, by Apple’s terminology, “a qualifying iPad.” I also wondered whether second-hand Macs would be eligible for a 3-month free trial, considering that I bought an M4 Mac mini second-hand earlier this month (and no, it wasn’t for Clawdbot despite what’s been trending lately).
Needless to say, I would never say ‘no’ to a 3-month trial, so I’m definitely going to try out what Apple Creator Studio has to offer. If you’re interested in trying out Creator Studio, just keep in mind that you will need to cancel the trial at least a day before the trial period ends to prevent automatic renewal. After the trial ends, Apple Creator Studio will be at any of these rates:
- Students/educators: $2.99/month or $29/year
- Everyone else: $12.99/month or $129/year
