With the release of the first developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.4 today, Apple has finally added Charging Limits to the Mac, a feature that has been limited to the iPhone 15, iPhone 16, and iPhone 17 series.
Similar to the iPhone, users can set their charging limit to 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, or 100%. MacBook users who have their device connected to the charger most of the time and are looking to maximize their Battery Health can select the 80% Charging Limit for the best benefit.

To enable this feature, users need to have the developer beta installed and follow these simple steps:
- Go to Settings
- Select Battery
- Click the ‘i’ button beside Charging
Users who are registered as a developer on www.developer.apple.com can opt in to receive beta updates by going into Settings>General>Software Update>Beta Updates and selecting Developer Beta. We can expect the second beta of macOS Tahoe 26.4 to be released after two weeks.
