In a statement to AppleInsider, Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said that Apple is expanding AppleCare One after it has been available in the US for just over a year. Now, Apple is expanding AppleCare One to the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia.
Borchers sent a statement to AppleInsider:
“With AppleCare One, customers in the UK can now enjoy the trusted protection of AppleCare+ in a way that’s simpler and more flexible than ever before — one plan, one price, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing all their eligible products can be covered.”
The news is fresh off a recent price increase for AppleCare subscriptions for Mac and iPad. We reported earlier this month that the cost increase is due to an “unavoidable situation to recoup those higher component costs.” Bloomberg also reported that AppleCare+ subscriptions are now pricier, with monthly plans $0.50 more expensive and annual plans $5 more expensive in the U.S.
While Apple has yet to release the full terms publicly, the cost will be the same as current U.S. pricing. The benefits of AppleCare One include:
- Coverage for up to three devices is included; additional devices are $5.99 per month.
- Theft and Loss coverage for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
- Priority Apple Support
- Free battery replacement
- Unlimited repairs for accidental damage
If you own multiple devices, AppleCare One subscription is a no-brainer. The service provides coverage to all my devices, and adding more is hassle-free through the Settings app on my iPhone. The service will be available in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Australia on August 4th.
