It may be no secret that Apple has been developing an all-new AirPods model that would come equipped with cameras. However, it appears that we may get a first look at some of the newest details about this unreleased headset.
Aaron, who’s an analyst at MacRumors, has apparently discovered a new video under the macOS 26.7 Release Candidate, which was released earlier today. This video is a short demo on how the upcoming AirPods would work.
In the video, a man wearing the AirPods is holding a book right in front of his face. The voiceover text says, “With Visual Intelligence, your world becomes savable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later.” This video further confirms that the unreleased AirPods model will take full advantage of Visual Intelligence to detect objects and surroundings around the user and the upcoming, vastly improved Siri AI to have a coherent conversation. What if you have longer hair that could obscure the AirPods? Thankfully, an alert will notify you, “To get the most information about things in your environment, make sure AirPods are not covered.”
Mark Gurman previously reported that the camera-equipped AirPods would have the codename B790, and this release candidate even backs up his claim, as it has several other mentions of the B790 product. Believe it or not, the release candidate also lists a wide plethora of other unreleased Apple products that we’ll cover in a follow-up article.
With that said, since the camera-equipped AirPods model would be centered around Siri AI, and macOS 26.7 will likely be released really soon, we can bet that these AirPods will be introduced at Apple’s annual fall event alongside the Apple Watch Series 12 / Ultra 4, the iPhone 18 Pro models, and the anticipated iPhone Ultra foldable.
