For the first Apple event since Tim Cook’s departure, there have been a range of feelings about the latest products announced by John Ternus. The yearly update to the iPhone and iPad lineups have brought major camera improvements, software improvements with iOS 27 and AI integration enhancements. Alongside this, new announcements for the Apple Watch have now brought the title of “most accurate heart sensor in a wearable in the world” to the wearable device.
AirPods 5 saw some major improvements with increased Active Noise Cancellation functionality and the same low price for some of the best-in-class everyday audio for Apple users. The tracklist below might be a great place to start with some curated songs to add to your playlist!
The focus for the event was “Surprise and Shine”, playing off the phrase “rise and shine”, indicating the new product, iPhone Duo, was one of the main surprises which Apple was keen to show at the event. This was left right to the end of the event, with Ternus making the announcement with a nod to Steve Jobs’s “one more thing…” before giving the key details of the new iPhone Duo. Duo marks the first foldable device for Apple, unlockable with TouchID, or Apple Watch – available in Star White & Night Sky colors, with a titanium design and IP68 rating. iOS 27 will now enter into its release stage and be made available to users later this month, as previously shown off at WWDC 26. Apple’s September Events are seen as the main event for the year, with the latest updates being announced for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and occasionally Mac. Other accessories, services and smaller products are also usually made during this event.
