Italy and Korea are one of the most affected regions by Coronavirus (COVID-19) after China. Since Apple had already restricted its employees earlier to travel to China, they have implemented the same for Italy and Korea due to the deadly spread of Coronavirus.
Apple sent a memo to its employees stating “We have instituted specific travel restrictions in a few countries including China, South Korea, and Italy,” “any employee who is sick, in particular, anyone who has a fever or severe cough, should take sick leave until they have fully recovered.” which was obtained by Bloomberg.
Apple also says, “There are many ways to continue to manage our ongoing meetings and activities through calls and video.” “If you do have travel planned, we suggest you work with your managers to consider delaying or canceling business travel which could be postponed or managed through virtual meetings.” “deep cleaning protocols are our top priority”
Apple employees can go to these regions (China, Italy and South Korea) only for business-critical reasons and upon prior permission from the Vice President of Apple. This information was sent through Messages to its employees, which was read by Bloomberg.
