There has been a lot of rumors regarding Audio devices by Apple. HomePod Lite, AirPods Pro Lite and Apple’s Over-The-ear headphones have been rumored for a long time.

Jon Prosser, a reputed Twitter leaker has said in a tweet that Apple’s over the ear headphones will most likely cost $350 and will launch in WWDC, which is in June. The codename for this device is B515. Last month 9To5Mac obtained codes from iOS 14 which contained two icons of Over-The-ear headphones. These headphones will target the Beats Studio 3 and the Bose 700.

Digitimes reported earlier that Apple may release an “AirPods Pro Lite”. Jon Prosser says in his tweet that it may be called the “AirPods X” which may launch at the end of this year, i.e., in September or October probably in their Special Event. The AirPods (2nd Generation) and the AirPods Pro were announced directly on www.apple.com, and if this will be launched in a special event then there will be groundbreaking features in the new AirPods. Jon Prosser says that the codename for this device is B517. These AirPods may cost $200 according to Prosser and will target the BeatsX which is half the price of the rumored AirPods X.

Since Apple is starting to take over the sound & audio category also, Beats may get phased out. Apple already has its smart speaker, HomePod and it’s cool wireless earphones AirPods and AirPods Pro, so now they are moving their attention towards the Over-The-ear headphones category. As Jon Prosser says, the end goal is to phase out Beats.
