EarPods were announced in 2012 with the iPhone 5 which replaced the standard earphones. Since then, Apple has been including EarPods in the box of every iPhone. These EarPods are comfortable to wear and have great sound quality. Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 series in 2016 and has been including EarPods with the Lightning Connector along with the Lighting to 3.5mm headphone jack adaptor. Apple had also announced its wireless EarPods named AirPods in 2016 along with the iPhone 7 series. Apple stopped including the Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adaptor in the box starting with the 2018 iPhone lineup – iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and the iPhone XR.

According to Ming-Chi Quo, Apple may not include the EarPods with the Lightning Connector in the box of the iPhone 12. Users have to either use their old EarPods or purchase a new MFi certified one or purchase AirPods. AirPods are comfortable to wear and have a great sound quality and many users around the world love to use their AirPods. Last month, Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Apple will not release new AirPods to the market this year. Kuo now says that Apple may promote the AirPods and offer discounts to it to drive more sales towards it. If Apple does not include EarPods in the iPhone 12 Box and promote AirPods and attach discounts to it, the sales of AirPods will rise heavily.

As of now, the wired EarPods cost $29 and the standard version of AirPods (2nd Generation) starts at $159 while the AirPods Pro costs $249.
