First Impressions: HBO Max

Over the last few days, I have been trying out the new HBO Max streaming service that was just released this week.

What I do like about it is that it has plenty of content to go around. The service having “The Big Bang Theory” was a big one for me and millions of Americans, as it is one of my favorite TV shows of all time and I was getting tired of having to stream it from Sling TV’s on-demand section.

On top of that, it had other TV shows that I like such as “Doctor Who” and “Rick and Morty.” It was recently announced it will be getting “Young Sheldon” in the future too.

Another feature of the service I like and that is going to be nice for other people as well is the fact the service does make its content available for offline viewing. It’s great for those on an airplane and kids traveling in the car.

The only drawbacks I have seen from the service was watching an episode of “Doctor Who” and the camera transition between scenes was a little blurry. The problem seemed like it corrected itself the more I watched, so it could have been an issue with my internet connection.

Lastly, unlike Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices, it was good HBO Max was available on all Apple devices like the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV on day one.

HBO Max costs $14.99 and is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac. It cannot be subscribed to through Apple TV Channels.
