Apple has today released watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 4 to registered developers ten days after the release of watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 3 and over a month after the public release of watchOS 6.2.6.

The build number for this update is 17U63. The build number signifies that this is a Gold Master copy as it does not have a letter at the end of the build number which identified if the version released was the final version or a beta testing version. This will probably be one of the last updates to watchOS 6 and will bring features like Car Key to your NFC Capable Apple Watch as Apple will be switching their full attention to watchOS 7. The final public versions of watchOS 6, iOS 13.6 and iPadOS 13.6 are expected to drop on Monday, July 14th.

According to Apple’s release notes, there are no new changes in watchOS 6.2.8 Beta 4.

Before you update your Apple Watch, make sure that you have a compatible iPhone with the latest version of iOS. For this update, you’ll require an iPhone 6s or later with a supported version of iOS 13 and the watchOS 6 Developer Profile installed. Also, make sure that your iPhone is connected to WiFi and your Apple Watch has at least 50% charge. Your iPhone and your Apple Watch should be in close proximity to each other. To update your Apple Watch to the latest Beta, Go to the Watch App on your iPhone, then go to My Watch>General>Software Update and update your watch to the latest beta of watchOS. watchOS 6.2.8 will be available for the Apple Watch Series 1, Apple Watch Series 2, Apple Watch Series 3, Apple Watch Series 4 and the Apple Watch Series 5.
