The iPhone 11 was announced in September 2019 along with the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max and started at $699 in the U.S. and at Rs. 63900 in India. The 6.1 inch iPhone 11 undoubtedly had the best internals for its value such as the fastest chip in a smartphone, the A13 Bionic and a revolutionary Dual Camera System (Wide and Ultra-Wide), letting you capture moments quickly with QuickTake and greatly improving image quality and color along with Night Mode, allowing you to capture highly detailed shots in Low Light Conditions. It also introduced 4K Video recording and Slofies on the Front Camera and all of this with an all-day battery life taking advantage of the beast – the A13 Bionic Chip. According to Apple, it has the “Highest Quality Video in a smartphone” and the “Fastest chip in a smartphone”.
Apple has now started manufacturing the iPhone 11 in the Foxconn plant located in Chennai, India. This means that Apple will save out on around 20% import duty charges in India. There are three manufacturing plants in India producing iPhones which are Foxconn, Pegatron and Wistron and as Foxconn plans to invest $1 billion in the Indian unit, we can see more and more iPhones starting to be manufactured in India. Pegatron is also rumored to invest in the manufacturing plant in India.
Apple has produced the iPhone 6s, iPhone SE (1st Generation), iPhone 7 and the iPhone XR in India and now the iPhone 11 as well. We can also expect Apple to manufacture the 2020 iPhone SE (2nd Generation) in India in the near future.
