Along with announcing the new 27-inch iMac Pro, Apple has also updated the iMac Pro to have a 3.0GHz 10-core Intel Xeon W processor with a Turbo Boost for up to 4.5GHz as its base configuration. Customers get to choose from two other options which are the 2.5GHz 14-core Intel Xeon W processor, with a Turbo Boost for up to 4.3GHz now costing $800 extra and the 2.3GHz 18-core Intel Xeon W processor with a Turbo Boost for up to 4.3GHz costing $1600 extra.
Previously, Apple had the 3.2 GHz 8-core Intel Xeon W processor, with a Turbo Boost for up to 4.2GHz as its base configuration, and customers got to choose from three other options which were 3.0GHz 10-core Intel Xeon W processor with a Turbo Boost for up to 4.5GHz costing $800 extra, the 2.5GHz 14-core Intel Xeon W processor, with a Turbo Boost for up to 4.3GHz costing $1600 extra and the 2.3GHz 18-core Intel Xeon W processor with a Turbo Boost for up to 4.3GHz costing $2400 extra. Currently, with only three options available for the iMac Pro Processor, the maxed-out processor upgrade now only costs $1600 instead of $2400 earlier.
Apple had also earlier added a 256GB option for memory, where previously it would only go up to 128GB. They have also updated the prices of memory upgrades. The 32GB option is the base configuration, the 64GB option is now available for $400 extra instead of $800 previously, the 128GB option is now available for $2000 extra instead of $2400 previously and Apple has now added a 256GB option which costs $5200 extra.
The iMac Pro with all the base configurations starts at $4999.
