Reports of Apple reducing iPhone 12 Mini production to increase iPhone 12 Pro production due to popular demand. This was confirmed DigiTimes, citing supply chain sources.

The report suggests the iPhone 12 mini was launched to target the U.S and European markets, but the global pandemic caused an impact in sales, leading to a significant hit sales.

Pegatron has seen a slowdown in orders for the ”ŒiPhone 12 mini”Œ as sales of the model in the US and Europe are affected negatively by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to industry sources.

The sources pointed out that the ”ŒiPhone 12 mini”Œ is targeting mainly consumers in the US and Europe, but overall smartphone sales there have been significantly undermined by the pandemic.

Strong demand for the iPhone 12 Pro in China and Asian countries have led Apple to increase and strengthen supply for the components, with Asian markets typically opting for larger form factor devices.

Pegatron, the main iPhone 12 mini producer has reduced production due to low demand. Morgan Stanley investment claimed Apple has begun shifting production from the iPhone 12 mini in Q1 2021.

iPhone 12 mini owners have been mostly satisfied with the device, even though of the low demand. The device only held 6% of iPhone 12 sales during the launch period, which suggests the device to not be as demanding as others.
