February in Black History Month in the United States and Apple is helping spread the word and helping the cause by launching a limited edition Apple Watch.Â
It is the Black Unity Apple Watch Series 6. It comes in Space Gray and has the Black Unity Sports Band for the watch.
For those who are not interested in buying the watch as a whole, the watchband can be purchased separately.Â
The limited edition Apple Watch itself starts at $399 for 40mm and 44mm for $429. The Black Unity Sports Band costs just $49.
Here is how Apple describes the watch band:Â
“Designed by Black creatives and allies throughout Apple to celebrate and acknowledge Black history and culture, the Black Unity Sport Band is inspired by the colors of the Pan-African flag and pays homage to the rich tradition and craft of quilt-making. Three individual pieces of colored fluoroelastomer are assembled by hand and compression-molded as one. Complemented by the dynamic Unity watch face, which displays an ever-changing pattern of irregular shapes as Apple Watch moves, these colors are brought together in a unique tapestry. The innovative pin-and-tuck closure is laser-etched with ‘Truth. Power. Solidarity.’”
Apple is supporting the following groups with this product and project: Black Lives Matter, European Network Against Racism (ENAR), International Institute on Race, Equality and Human Rights, Leadership Conference Education Fund, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) and Souls Grown Deep.Â
Apple Stores across the country do have the limited edition Apple Watch and Black Unity Sports Band available on hand and can be purchased online and picked up at the store too.Â
Apple’s website and stores do accept Apple Pay and those that use their Apple Card in the Wallet app will get 3% in Daily Cash.Â
