With the launch of the rebranded Paramount+ today by ViacomCBS, this also means that the streaming service is now available on Apple TV Channels.
We reported last month that Paramount+ would be available on Apple TV Channels thanks to an ad that was being played on the streaming service before users were able to play content on it.
Paramount+ is the rebranded version of CBS All Access that provides content from ViacomCBS networks such as CBS, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, Smithsonian Channel and BET.
What makes it different to subscribe to the streaming service through Apple TV Channels instead of the Paramount+ app is users will access all of the content from that streaming service through the Apple TV app.
On top of that, all of the content from the app will be available for offline playback.
Whether you subscribe through the Paramount+ app or via Apple TV Channels, the streaming service will also provide a livestream to their local CBS station in select markets.
Original content that has launched today on Paramount+ is the new Spongebob Squarepants movie “Sponge on the Run,” which is the third Spongebob movie in the series. There is also the “Spongebob Squarepants” spin-off TV series “Kamp Koral” that has also launched today with its first six episodes being available to stream.
Other original content that is on the way are reboots for both “iCarly” and “Frasier.”
Select Paramount movies that will be on the streaming service 45 days after they are in movie theaters will be “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Mission: Impossible 7” and “Quiet Place 2.”
Paramount+ with ads costs $5.99 per month and $9.99 per month for the ad-free version. Subscribing through Apple TV Channels will cost $9.99 per month.
Paramount+ is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Mac, and can be subscribed to through the App Store via in-app purchases.
It is available through Apple TV Channels via the Apple TV app, which is on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, select smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, XBOX One, XBOX Series X&S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
