One aspect of the Apple TV app that you may not have noticed this past week is that NickHits has shut down.

NickHits used to be the one and only place to watch old Nickelodeon TV shows like “Zoey 101,” the complete series of “iCarly” and all of the current seasons of “Spongebob Squarepants.”

However, with the launch of Paramount+ in March 2021, and that it took in all of the programming from NickHits, there was not much of a point for the Nickelodeon-based streaming service.

Along with the release of Paramount+, which is also available on Apple TV Channels, as of Thursday, May 6, NickHits is no longer on Apple TV Channels.

This means that the only way to watch the programming from NickHits is to get Paramount+. We have a review of the service too.

Other streaming services like Netflix have “Victorious,” “Sam & Cat,” “Big Time Rush” and the first two seasons of “iCarly.” Additionally, Hulu has the complete series of “Drake and Josh” and “Big Time Movie,” a “Big Time Rush” TV movie.

The Apple TV app is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, tvOS-based Apple TV, Apple TV third generation, Mac, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, select Smart TVs, XBOX One, XBOX Series X&S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Paramount+ currently costs $5.99 a month with its ad-supported version, which will be changed next month to $4.99 a month, and the ad-free version costs $9.99 a month. It can be subscribed to via in-app purchases in the App Store and Apple TV Channels.

What do you think of the end of NickHits? Did you ever use it? Do you plan on using Paramount+? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
