Those who are still using the Apple TV third generation might be turning it on saying to themselves, “What the fox?”
Starting on Thursday, June 17, the FOX NOW app will no longer be supported on the Apple TV third generation.
FOX NOW has been an app on the device that has enabled users to watch the newest shows on FOX for free with ads, as long as they have a TV provider to sign in with.
It is also an app that has the ability to allow users to watch their favorite live FOX channels through the app.
Moving forward, once FOX NOW app support has been dropped from the Apple TV third generation, the only way to stream content from app will be through the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, tvOS Apple TV and Mac via a browser like Safari or Google Chrome.
However, users will still be able to AirPlay content from the FOX NOW app from a device like an iPhone or iPad, and play it on their Apple TV third generation.
Other apps the Apple TV third generation has lost this year are CBS, YouTube and MLB apps.
What do you think of the FOX NOW app leaving the Apple TV third generation next month? Do you still use that type of Apple TV? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
