A memo obtained by Bloomberg states that Apple can safely and will move onto to “Phase 3 onsite protocol,” which will allow optional mask-wearing, as well as relaxed social distancing guidelines.
This change is in contrast to its currently-enacted policy, which states that all visitors require masks and brings the chain in line with other retails stores as more are dropping the requirement for vaccinated guests.
Last month, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated:
Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
Apple’s policy change will go into effect starting this Tuesday, June 15th.
Apple has also informed retail/staff members that while fully-vaccinated visitors don’t need to wear masks, employees will still be required to do so for the foreseeable future.
