As many Americans continue their huge travel boom after a year of COVID-19-related lockdowns, there is one app one should be aware of.

This app is called Organic Maps and it provides users with the ability to get turn-by-turn directions even when they are not available online. It is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad as a free app in the App Store.

What also makes it a pretty important app is that it specializes in keeping your data safe. There are no ads, no data collection, no tracking and no push notifications. The only time it will get your location is when you are in the app and using it, but no funny business in the background.

CarPlay support was added to the app late last month, giving users another way to access and view it on their car’s dashboard, which may be more efficient for some.

Other features of the app include cycling and hiking directions too. It does have a Dark Mode option for those who want to view the app in a darker color, but also for when it gets dark outside and you don’t want that glaring bright light in your face, especially if you are driving.

What are your thoughts on Organic Maps? Have you used it before? Do you plan on using it this summer for traveling and vacation purposes? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
