The end has come for one iPad model.

The iPad fourth generation is now considered obsolete by Apple, according to a memo obtained by MacRumors. This makes sense at this point as that iPad was released back in 2022, making it a nine-year-old tablet.

By making it obsolete also means that Apple will no longer permit hardware service on it.

Apple has yet to add the device to its list of vintage and obsolete products, but could be soon.

The iPad fourth generation was a groundbreaking product for its time. It was the first iPad to get rid of the 30-pin connector port, which had been a staple on the iPad since its first generation. The 30-pin connector was replaced with the Lightning port, which is still used today on select active iPads.
