Apple has recalled numerous iPhone 12 models in the United Arab Emirates due to issues with audio portions of the devices.
From what is shown, the sound faults are found in iPhone 12 and 12 Pro devices ”“ without the mention of the 12 mini or the 12 Pro Max.
Apple has an Apple Support page detailing more information regarding the iPhone issue, noting that a program is available, with free service:
“If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro does not emit sound from the receiver when you make or receive calls, it may be eligible for service. Apple or an Apple authorized Service Provider will service eligible devices, free of charge.”
“Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices may experience sound issues due to a component that might fail on the receiver module. Affected devices were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.”
The company also states that the iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max are not part of the free program.
Finally, Apple says that the program covers iPhone 12 and 12 Pro devices for two years after the first retail sale.
Apple’s iPhone 12 is last year’s generation of the iPhone lineup. Introduced in October 2020, the iPhone 12 sported major improvements like square-edge design, MagSafe, and bigger batteries, while it kept the bigger notch, 60Hz screen, and removed the wall charging brick.
