It could be the most wonderful time of the year if you are a developer or company when it comes to apps and services.
We do have some apps and services that you could look into giving as gifts this year that could make life better for your loved ones.
Here are those recommendations.

- Tweetbot 6: For those that maybe do not want to use the official Twitter app, Tweetbot 6 is a great app that allows you to see your Twitter timeline in chronological order, make and post polls, contribute to the Twitter community, and is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Mac. Tweetbot 6 currently costs $5.99 a year or $0.99 a month that can be subscribed to through the App Store.
- CARROT Weather: Apple may have updated its Weather app for iOS 15, but even with the improvements and upgrades to that app, CARROT Weather will get you all of the information you need and then some, as well as provide always-updating humor and jokes. It starts at just $6.99 a year or $4.99 a month, and is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac.
- Pixelmator Pro: The photographer and designer in your life will thank you for this off-brand version of Adobe Photoshop. While it is an off-brand, it still provides all of the tools and features necessary to get the job done. As of this writing, it is currently available for 50% off in the Mac App Store for just $19.99.
- Apollo for Reddit: While Reddit’s app has come a long way, when it comes to the design of the app, it just does not compare to the greatness that comes with Apollo for Reddit. Not only does the app have an appealing UI and design, but those who pay for the Apollo Ultra that starts at $9.99 a year or $39.99 for a one-time lifetime subscription to the app. It is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
- Deliveries: Those that do a lot of online shopping and are always tracking packages, this app is for them. The app has a simple-to-use interface and is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac.
Services:
- iCloud+: Do you have someone that has a plethora of Apple devices and needs to get the most from its cloud storage? iCloud+ could be just what they are looking for with features such as having storage as high as 2TB, Hide My Email, iCloud Private Relay and Custom Email Domain. - Disney+: The Disney, “Star Wars” and Marvel fan in your life will thank you with a subscription to this streaming service. It can even be subscribed to through the App Store at just $7.99 a month. It is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
- Paramount+: If you have someone in your life that grew up in what was arguably the golden age of Nickelodeon with shows like “Spongebob Squarepants,” “Danny Phantom,” original “iCarly,” “Drake & Josh” and “Zoey 101,” then you may want to look into purchasing this streaming service. It also has content from other networks like CBS, MTV, Comedy Central and others, and includes original content like the 2021 “iCarly” reboot, a new season of “RENO 911,” “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Picard.” The service does have new family-friendly movies like “PAW Patrol” and “Clifford the Big Red Dog” too. Paramount+ starts at just $5.99 with ads and $9.99 a month without ads. Its ad-free plan can be subscribed to through Apple TV Channels too. It is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
- Peacock: This one might come as a surprise to some, but with the ending of NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) before 2022, the New Year will bring a new focus and emphasis on Peacock, especially for its sports content. Additionally, the service has TV shows to stream such as “The Office,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Modern Family,” “Yellowstone” and “George Lopez,” just to name a few. Its like sports currently includes NBC’s Sunday Night Football, live NBC broadcasts of Notre Dame football games, select MLB games and live Premier League soccer. Peacock Premium starts at $4.99 a month that will include ads and then $9.99 a month for its ad-free version. It can be streamed on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
- HBO Max: The service was updated this year to now include both an ad-supported plan for $9.99 a month and $14.99 a month for its ad-free version that will also get new movies added to it, whereas the ad-supported version does not. Still, HBO Max has quite the amount of content on it and is set to get even more in 2022. Like with the other streaming services mentioned above, it can be streamed on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
