Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that Apple has once again dropped its mask mandate in most of its retail stores.

Apple’s reason for dropping the mask mandate in its stores is due to the drop of COVID-19 cases across the U.S and changes to local mask mandates.

Gurman stated that this was announced to employees at its retail stores this week. The company is said to be recommending masks to be worn in its stores, but will no longer be requiring them for customers. However, employees will still be required to wear them while working.

Apple’s stores in New York will no longer be mandating the masks for its customers that have been fully vaccinated. Hawaii is still said to be the one state where masks will be required due to the state’s strict COVID-19 guidelines.

Additionally, Today at Apple in-store classes will be revived at several of Apple’s U.S. stores. Some stores are said to be getting new in-person classes starting this week, but most stores will likely see a return of these classes next month.

Apple previously got rid of its mask mandate in November 2021 during the holiday season, but later brought it back the following month due to rising COVID-19 cases, more specifically, the omicron variant.
