Apple’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook, was recently featured on a 145-year-old Italian Publication, Corriere della Sera. The publication has launched a new magazine named Login and interviewed Tim Cook for its first issue.
In the magazine, he asked Italian innovators to join Apple and use their technology to change the world and make it a better place. He said, “With access to the right tools, everyone has the potential to be realized. Italy is a place of great creativity and passion: take advantage of your skills.” (translation).
Tim believes that the world is once again facing a critical and key moment in history. He quoted, “As the world emerges from a pandemic that has taken so much away from us in the past two years, we have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape the future we want to live in. The decisions we make today about how to rebuild and where to focus our resources will leave their mark for many decades to come.”
Apple has collaborated with the University of Naples Federico II and created the Apple Developer Academy to provide aspiring developers and entrepreneurs with the required coding skills to bring their ideas to life. He added, “And while technology will have a profound influence on the future we build, it is important to remember that technology is not inherently good or bad. Its impact will depend on the values ”‹”‹and intentions we place at the heart of our innovations.”
The Cupertino-based company’s CEO explains the values at Apple: “As we move forward together, faced with so many challenges, it will be more important than ever to put humanity at the heart of the technology we create. If we do, the opportunities to inspire progress and improve people’s lives will be immense.” He added, “At Apple, we will continue to be guided by our values ”‹”‹as we use technology to change the world for the better. I hope that innovators from all over Italy will want to join us in this challenge.”
Last year, the Italian authority imposed a fine of 134.5 million Euros on Apple, according to an antitrust investigation about retail collusion and price-fixing.
