This is Applesophy’s Live Blog for the upcoming 2022 ‘Peak Performance’ Apple Live Event. Be sure to update this article every 2 minutes to see updates from the live event as they arrive.

You can watch the live event here on Apple’s website, and here on YouTube. If you wanna read about what you can expect at the event, check out this article from earlier today.

The live blog will continue here when the event starts at 10 a.m. PST.

09:45 a.m. PST: The event is live! The introductory video, which is usually somehow connected with the content, is this time around neon-themed, similarly to 2021s ‘Spring Reloaded’ event. Could the ‘dark theme’ of this year’s spring event hint at an Apple Silicon iMac Pro?

10:00 a.m. PST: GOOD MORNING! Tim Cook takes over the stage and introduces Apple TV+ milestones from the last part of the year. Several Apple TV+ Original Films are coming later this year.

10:05 a.m. PST: Introducing Friday Night Baseball where you can see two exclusive baseball games every Friday.

10:07 a.m. PST: Introducing a new green colour finish for both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. Pre-orders start on Friday.

10:10 a.m. PST: The rumoured iPhone SE 3 has been announced, featuring an A15 Bionic chip, and keeping all-new iOS 15 features. It retains Touch ID. 5G connectivity is also present on the device.

10:15 a.m. PST: New iPad Air update! It features an M1 chip with up to 2x the GPU performance. It is 2x faster than the best-selling Windows laptop in the price range and is according to Apple a mobile-gaming powerhouse. It now supports center-stage due to its 12MP wide-angle camera and has 5G connectivity. The charging port is now 2x faster due to its new USB-C port when handling data transfers.

10:25 a.m. PST: Topic switches over to the Mac, and Tim is addressing the success of the new MacBook Pro M1 Pro/Max and M1 Mac 24″. John Ternus takes over the stage and introduces the new M1 Ultra. It has a groundbreaking architecture built on the M1 Max and is essentially 2 M1 Max chips tied together with Apple’s UltraFusion architecture. It delivers 90% more performance with 100W less power.

10:35 a.m. PST: A new format of the Mac is released, the Mac Studio and Studio Display. It has two configs, an M1 Max and the new M1 Ultra. The Mac Studio features 4 Thunderbolt ports, 1 10GB/s Ethernet port, 2 USB-A ports, and a high-impedance audio jack. The front features two USB-C 4.0 ports and an SD card slot. It also brings 128GB of unified memory.

10:50 a.m. PST: Nicole takes the stage introducing the 27″ Studio Display, featuring a 5K display. It, like most other Apple displays also has True Tone. An anti-glare technology is also present in the Studio Display, while it also includes a 12MP centre-stage and an A13 chip. There are also three USB-C 4.0 plugs and one thunderbolt plug on the back. You can even charge your Macbook with the Thunderbolt plug it requires for display connectivity. The Studio Display is available in silver and space gray options. Space gray Magic accessories have also returned.

That is all for this Apple Event, with only the Mac Pro left to get Apple Silicon. Will that come with the M2 at WWDC22?
