One of Apple’s many announcements today during its 2022 March event was that its streaming platform Apple TV+ will soon begin to start livestreaming MLB “Friday Night Baseball.”
Once the MLB gets out of its current lockout and begins its regular season, Apple TV+ will exclusively stream two games each Friday night.
Apple TV+ users will also have access to a new show called “MLB Big Inning” that will feature live highlights and “look-ins” from MLB games around the league each weeknight.
There is additionally said to be, “a new 24/7 livestream with MLB game replays, news and analysis, highlights, classic games, and more, as well as a full complement of on-demand programming, including highlights and MLB-themed original content,” according to Apple Newsroom.
Viewers can tune in as long as they have the Apple TV app. Apple has said that in the beginning, viewers won’t even need an Apple TV+ subscription to watch these MLB games and content live.
Noah Garden, the MLB’s chief revenue officer, said it only makes sense for MLB games and content to be on Apple TV+.

With national availability and international reach, MLB on Apple TV+ offers an exciting new platform to fans that allows a wider audience to connect with the game.”
The Apple News app will be providing more MLB news and coverage, and users of it will be able to follow their favorite teams and watch highlights right in the app.
The Apple TV app is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, select Smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, XBOX One, XBOX One S, XBOX Series X&S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Apple has also been reported to be interested in trying to get streaming rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket and other NFL streaming rights. However, nothing has been officially announced about when/if Apple has earned those rights.
