Apple Opens WWDC22 In-Person Invitations For Developers To Attend
Apple WWDC22 announcement hero big

On Monday, Apple opened in-person invitations for developers to attend WWDC22 which will take place in less than a month. The keynote will mostly be online-only for most viewers. However, Apple will select a few lucky developers to watch the keynote from Apple Park.

The Cupertino-based giant announced that this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference will take place between Monday, June 6, and Friday, June 10. A large number of developers usually attend WWDC events every year but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 and 2021 saw virtual events replacing the traditional events.

This year, Apple will perform a limited in-person event where the company will randomly select members of the Apple Developer Program, Apple Developer Enterprise Program, and 2022 Swift Student Challenge applicants.

Keep in mind that these fortunate members will not watch a live keynote, but a prerecorded video together. The company states that “Invitations will be allocated through a random selection process and are non-transferrable.”

“We’re hosting a special all-day experience at Apple Park on June 6 to kick off WWDC22. Gather with others in the developer community to watch the keynote and Platforms State of the Union videos alongside Apple engineers and experts, explore the all-new Developer Center, and so much more. We can’t wait to connect in person.

This celebration marks the start of an inspiring week of sessions, labs, and lounges ”” all online and with more activities than ever.”

Apple says that attending is free and will take applications from May 9 at 9:00 a.m. PT to May 11 at 9:00 a.m. PT. Meaning that there is not a whole lot of time for you. If you submit an application, you will be notified of your status by May 12 at 6:00 p.m. PT.

Just like every previous event, the Cupertino-based giant is expected to announce new software versions of each product they sell. This year it will be iOS and iPadOS 16, macOS 13 (codenamed Rome), tvOS 16 (codenamed Paris), and watchOS 9 (codenamed Kincaid).

Earlier this month, it was reported that iOS 16 will bring significant improvements to notifications and new health-tracking features as well as new capabilities regarding Focus Mode. The next version of the iPhone and iPad software is codenamed Sydney.

If you are planning to submit an application, you can go here and remember, that you do not have a lot of time, so submit your application as soon as possible.
