As the annual WWDC draws near, we’ve been expecting some Macs to be announced, and Apple Authorized Reseller B&H Photo has posted new listings for some upcoming Macs. Earlier today, eager Apple fans have discovered some exotic listings for the upcoming M2-based Mac mini and M1 Pro-based “Mac mini tower” on B&H Photo’s website. Now, we’re starting to see more listings on other products – a 14-inch M2 MacBook Air and a 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro.

While it is important to take these upcoming products with a grain of salt, it should be noted that retailers often set up product listings for upcoming products ahead of the announced or release date. Interestingly, both of the aforementioned products have been rumored for a couple months before WWDC 2022. Therefore, the timing here shouldn’t be more coincidental to say the least.

For the 14” Air, we can expect an all-new design that’s inspired by the 24-inch M1 iMac, including additional colors. However, a recent rumor from Mark Gurman indicates that the said device will come in four colors – silver, space gray, a new shade of gold called “champagne”, and blue. Blue would go well on the MacBook Air as Apple has offered a blue finish across many of its products, including the recently announced iPad Air with the M1 chip.

For the 13” Pro, we except it to retain the same design as before in contrast to the new design of the 14”/16” Pros. It will do away with the controversial Touch Bar, marking the end of the feature for good. There has been speculation that this device would be called just the “MacBook”. Oddly enough, it will most likely sit between the 14” Air and the 14” MacBook Pro. It still remains unclear if Apple will continue selling the existing M1 Air despite the shipping delays.

Both of these machines will feature the next generation M2 chip with an eight-core CPU (4 performance/4 efficiency) and this time, 10-core GPU (an improvement over the 7/8 cores depending on the model). The only Mac model that Apple has yet to transition to Apple Silicon is the Mac Pro. In the past, Apple has announced major generations for the Mac Pro at WWDC. This year’s WWDC would be a perfect opportunity to announce a Mac Pro with Apple Silicon, which will mark the end of a two-year transition to Apple Silicon.

Only time will tell if we ever get an announcement of the biggest leap in performance for the Mac Pro. The main keynote WWDC 2022 will start at 10am PDT/5pm UTC. Get some sleep because this year’s conference is going to be a blast.
