It has been announced today that Apple will be increasing prices on some of its services.
The services that will be impacted by this are Apple Music, Apple TV+, and Apple One.
Apple Music is set to only be getting increased by $1 more per month, making it still just $10.99 a month. While consumers could sight inflation as being the main cause of these price changes, this does come just after Apple Music surpassed 100 million songs in its catalog, as well as became the new lead sponsor for the new lead sponsor for the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show featuring Rihanna.
However, Apple did say a major reason for the price increase was to essentially pay better royalties to artists, song writers, and people behind the scenes in the music industry.
Apple TV+ will be seeing its first price increase in the U.S. and will go up $2 more per month, making it $6.99 a month. This change makes more sense because of Apple getting streaming rights to MLB Friday Night Baseball, MLS soccer games to start next season, as well as potentially NFL or college football streaming rights. Not to mention Apple is making plenty of its own original TV shows and movies on the streaming service too.
Lastly, Apple One, Apple’s bundle option, will now start at $16.95 a month.
