Today, Apple released a new version of their Mac Mini lineup. Starting at a more affordable price of $599 and $499 for students, the lineup is equipped with the most powerful chips, the M2 and M2 Pro.

The Mac mini has a new M2 and M2 Pro chip that features a 12-core CPU, 19-core GPU configuration, and up to 32 GB of RAM. Everyday tasks can be done very fluidly and for intensive tasks like editing video or gaming.

The new Mac Mini The M2 Model includes two Thunderbolt 4 generation ports and supports up to two displays, while the M2 Pro version offers a more advanced experience with four Thunderbolt 4 generation ports, giving users the ability to connect up to three displays, one of which can be an 8K display. This makes the M2 Pro a great choice for those who want a more advanced desk setup. The device also includes one HDMI port, two USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet with a 10GB option, both models with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

Apple stated that the new Mac mini with M2 Pro is up to 2.5 times faster in graphics performance in Affinity Photo, 4.2 times faster in ProRes transcode in Final Cut Pro, and 2.8 times faster in gameplay in Resident Evil Village compared to the previous model with the M1 chip. During the Apple Silicon transition, some Mac mini models still used Intel chips, but now it has a completely in-house made chip lineup with Apple Silicon.

The Mac mini is now available to order at the online Apple Store starting today and arriving to customers on January 24.
