Now that we’ve got the return of the full-size HomePod, there’s still a lot to look forward to for Apple’s Smart Home roadmap. According to Bloomberg, Apple is developing a new device that will look similar to the iPad, but it will be used for smart home management purposes.
This would be quite intriguing as we would also use our iPads to access the Home app. The source also reports that this upcoming smart hub could be mounted to walls and other stationary objects using magnets. Fun fact: you could technically mount a modern iPad to a magnetic refrigerator since the iPad is filled with magnets. If Apple were to introduce such a device, then it would go after the rest of the smart home devices such as Amazon’s Echo Show.
This isn’t the first time we’ve been hearing about Apple’s interest in the smart home industry. Previous rumors include the development of devices that would be something like an Apple TV set-top box and HomePod combined. All in all, it’s still interesting how Apple is going to market this product if they want to expand its lineup of smart home accessories. We can expect this device to be introduced next year.
What do you guys think about this fascinating device? Would you buy this over an iPad for home use? Let us know in the comments below.
