YouTube TV, which is one of the most popular live TV streaming services on the market today, has confirmed over Twitter that it will be increasing its monthly price to $72.99 a month.

The price for new customers is out now and existing customers will see the new price take effect on Tuesday, April 18.

YouTube TV’s reasoning for the price increase is simply due to the fact that there have been rises in prices for content.

Furthermore, the live TV streaming service did reduce the price of its 4K add-on which used to be $19.99 a month and is now $9.99 a month.

That feature alone for those customers interested is a big deal if you consider the fact that sporting events such as this year’s Super Bowl and select college basketball games have been broadcast in 4K on FOX.

However, there is a way to get around paying the 4K add-on cost for those 4K broadcast games through YouTube TV by simply downloading the FOX Sports app onto a device like an Apple TV 4K, where as long as the user signs in with valid TV provider credentials, they can stream that FOX Sports sporting event in 4K without having to pay the additional fee to YouTube TV.

YouTube TV is currently available to stream on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.
