It seems like all we hear about these days is the price going up on things. That is no different now with YouTube.

For those that don’t know, YouTube Premium enables subscribers to view videos ad-free, download videos and make them available for offline playback, and play videos in the background, whether the user is using a different app at the time is wanting to put their phone to sleep and manage the video from theri Lock Screen.

Now, the service has received a faint increase in its monthly price. The price is going up by an additional $2 per month. Previously, the price was $11.99 a month through YouTube’s website, but is now going up to $13.99 a month.

It can be subscribed to through in-app purchases through the iOS YouTube app but at a higher price per month. Its price in the app was $15.99 a month and is now going to $18.99 a month.

YouTube Premium’s student plan is also getting raised and will go from $6.99 a month to $7.99 a month.

YouTube Music Premium received a price increase too, which went from $9.99 a month to $10.99 a month, which is similar to the price increase of Apple Music that was announced late last year.

On top of all of that, the yearly prices are going up as well.

For a yearly subscription of YouTube Premium, it is going from $119.99 a year to $139.99 a year.

This also comes during the same time that other streaming and video playback services have increased their prices recently, which includes Peacock and the recent elimination of the Basic ad-free tier on Netflix.
