Apple TV 4K users can stream five college football games in 4K on September 16

This weekend there will be more college football to stream in 4K than ever before for Apple TV 4K users.

Here are the following games:

  • 12 p.m.ET: Penn State vs. Illinois – FOX

  • 2:30 p.m. ET: Notre Dame vs. Central Michigan – Peacock

  • 4 p.m. ET: Ohio State vs. Western Kentucky – FOX

  • 5 p.m. ET: Washington vs. Michigan State – Peacock

  • 7 p.m. ET: Tennessee vs. Florida – ESPN

The way to stream these games in 4K on FOX is through two methods.

Our first method will be through the YouTube TV and fuboTV live TV streaming services. Both of them offer the FOX 4K channels which will be showing the 4K through the 4K feed. YouTube TV users will need the 4K add-on with the service which costs an additional $9.99 a month.

The most convenient way to get access to the 4K stream will be through the tvOS FOX Sports app. All the user will have to do is sign in with their TV provider to the app and as long as your TV plan has FOX as a channel on it, you will be able to stream the game from the app and view it in 4K on their Apple TV 4K.

As for streaming the games live in 4K on Peacock, the user will simply have to download and install the Peacock tvOS app to their Apple TV 4K, log into their account, and stream the game from the app. Once again, TVAnswerman.com has stated that the games will be available to stream in 4K there.

When it comes to the ESPN game, that one can only be streamed through YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream, according to TVAnswerman.com.

ESPN does broadcast the games in “native 4K” thanks to cameras that are available at the stadium and on-site. FOX Sports’ 4K broadcasts “are produced in 1080p HD and then upscaled to 4K for the home transmission.”
