Apple has published information on its support page that states that the company will be eliminating the $4.99 a month Voice Plan this month.

“Beginning in November, Apple will discontinue the Apple Music Voice plan. We are focused on delivering the best, most robust music experience possible for our customers, with features like immersive Spatial Audio, Apple Music Sing with real-time lyrics, intuitive browse and discovery features, and so much more. All Apple Music plans already work seamlessly with Siri, and we will continue to optimize this experience.”

Customers that are still on the Voice Plan will be able to stay on it and use it until the final billing cycle this month.

From there, users will have the option to sign up for a regular Apple Music subscription that starts at $10.99 a month. Other options include Apple Music’s Student and Family plans, along with it being bundled through Apple One.

Apple has not specifically said why it has decided to get rid of the Apple Music Voice Plan or why it is doing it this month.

The way how Apple Music Voice worked was by talking to Siri through a device like an iPhone, iPad, or HomePod, and tell it to play a certain song. Users could not go into the Music and choose which song they wanted to play in Apple Music since the Voice Plan was specifically made for vocal requests through Siri.
