Apple rolls out macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 with important security fixes

Apple has started rolling out macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 to the public with important security fixes. This update comes a little over three weeks after the release of macOS Sequoia 15.1 which debuted with Apple Intelligence. Apple keeps refining the software experience with every 15.x.x update whilst also fixing security issues. The build number for this update is 24B91 and 24B2091 for Mac models with M4 chip.

According to the Release Notes:

“This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users.

macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 includes fixes to 2 security flaws, according to Apple:

“JavaScriptCore

Available for: macOS Sequoia

Impact: Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Mac systems.

Description: The issue was addressed with improved checks.

WebKit

Available for: macOS Sequoia

Impact: Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to a cross site scripting attack. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Mac systems.

Description: A cookie management issue was addressed with improved state management.”

These updates are available on all devices that support macOS Sequoia including:

  • MacBook Air (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (2018 and later)
  • iMac (2019 and later)
  • iMac Pro (2017)
  • Mac mini (2018 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2019 and later)
