According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter, Apple is preparing to begin mass production of its first M5-powered laptops and a pair of new external monitors. The report notes that Apple’s upcoming lineup includes new MacBook Pro models (code-named J714 and J716), refreshed MacBook Airs (J813 and J815), and two external displays (J427 and J527). These products are said to be moving closer to mass production.

The arrival of the M5 chip marks another step in Apple’s rapid transition through its silicon roadmap. Each generation has delivered notable gains in performance and power efficiency. The mention of two new external monitors is also intriguing. Apple currently offers the Studio Display and the Pro Display XDR, catering to different user groups. The new models could serve as successors, expand the lineup, or fill a long-requested middle ground in pricing and features.

It’s worth remembering that this news comes alongside reports that Apple is preparing new iPad Pro models and a possible Vision Pro refresh. If all of these products launch between late 2025 and early 2026, it could make this one of Apple’s busiest product cycles in recent years.
