Unlike most of Apple’s major product lines, such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, the discontinued first-generation Vision Pro is currently not eligible for a trade-in value or credit on Apple’s website. This means owners of the initial Vision Pro who wish to upgrade to the new M5 version will need to sell their old device independently.
Typically, when a new model of a high-end Apple device is released, the predecessor becomes available for trade-in, offering users an easy path to offset the cost of an upgrade. The exclusion of the Vision Pro from the trade-in program is unusual, possibly indicating an initial reluctance from Apple’s trade-in partners to accept the device. Customers can, however, still recycle the original Vision Pro through Apple’s free recycling program if the device has no trade-in value.
