Yesterday, Apple started rolling out the first betas of iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 to developers for supported devices. However, it seems that the update is not being signed by Apple anymore for certain devices, including the new iPhone Air, M5 iPad Pro (WiFi+Cellular), and iPhone 16e, according to MacRumors.
The update has not yet been pulled by Apple, meaning that it will appear on the above-mentioned devices for users registered to receive developer betas, but the installation will fail. The reason for this action is currently unknown.
MacRumors notes that these three devices feature either the C1 or C1X modems from Apple for cellular connectivity, so there might be a critical bug in relation to those chips with the first beta of iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2.
This seems very likely, since only the cellular iPad Pro is affected by this.
