Apple fans on Long Island, get ready for a brand-new experience. Apple has officially announced the reopening of its historic Roosevelt Field store in Garden City, New York. Mark your calendars for Friday, November 21, at 10:00 a.m., when the doors will open to reveal a space that has been completely transformed after a year-long renovation.
This location holds a special place in Apple’s retail history. It first opened its doors back in 2002, just months after the original iPod launched, making it one of the company’s long-standing retail spots. To continue serving customers during the extensive, year-long construction, Apple operated a temporary store within the Roosevelt Field mall.
So, what’s new? The renovated store is shedding its classic stainless steel aesthetic for Apple’s more modern retail design. Visitors can expect a warmer, more inviting atmosphere that features extensive use of natural materials, including beautiful wood paneling. This change aligns with Apple’s global strategy of modernizing its older stores to create more open and welcoming community hubs.
The reopened store will feature the usual Apple Pickup station, making it faster and easier to grab online orders. It will also host a full “Today at Apple” area for free creative sessions, a Genius Bar for hands-on support, and a special experience zone where customers can book a one-on-one demo of the Apple Vision Pro.
