Apple has announced a refresh to the iPad Air, which will now be available with the M4 chip. This launch is a part of Apple’s “big week” of announcements, expected to bring at least five new products to the market. The M4 iPad Air comes out a year after the launch of the M3 variant for the same price tag of $599.

The M4 chip on the iPad Air comes with an 8-core CPU and a 9-core GPU, with Apple claiming that it provides up to 30% faster performance than the M3 iPad Air and is up to 2.3x faster when compared to the M1 iPad Air.

Thanks to the M4 chip, the new iPad Air now comes with 12GB of unified memory instead of 8GB in the previous M3 generation, marking a 50% increase. This means that multitasking performance will be even better, considering it also features a memory bandwidth upgrade to 120GB/s.

The 13-inch variant starts at $799 and $949, respectively. The device will be available to Pre-order on March 4th at 6:15 a.m. PT and will be available starting March 11th.
