At WWDC 2026 last week, Apple introduced the next iteration of its iPhone software, iOS 27. iOS 27 brings several requested features to the iPhone, including changes to Screen Time, a new Siri, improvements to Apple Intelligence, New Photo Editing options, and more. Along with these changes, Apple has finally added an adjustment slider to control the intensity of Liquid Glass according to your liking.

Apple previously added new ‘Clear’ and ‘Tinted’ options in iOS 26, but the option was somewhat limited compared to the slider introduced with iOS 27.

If you have installed the first developer beta of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 Golden Gate, you can follow these steps to adjust Liquid Glass:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Appearance>Liquid Glass
  3. Move the slider all the way to the left for the clearest setting, and right for tinted

We can expect the next betas for version 27.0 to be rolled out next week, with the Public Beta releasing next month. Users who are registered as a developer on www.developer.apple.com can opt in to receive beta updates by going into Settings>General>Software Update>Beta Updates and selecting Developer Beta. Do note that these versions are not stable and are meant for testing purposes. They are not recommended to be downloaded on a primary device due to the nature of beta software. iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and more are set to be released to the public alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series and the rumored foldable ‘iPhone Ultra’ this fall.
