While we’re still waiting for Apple’s annual Back-to-School promotion to go live in the United States, that special promotion has started to go live in many countries in the Far East. This includes
- China
- India
- Malaysia
- The Philippines
- Singapore
- Taiwan
- Thailand
- Vietnam
As part of this promotion, similar to what we had last year, college students and educational students could get an additional accessory for free when they purchase an eligible Mac or iPad model. Keep in mind that the included accessories eligible for this promotion may vary from country to country, and you could get a solid discount for some higher-value accessories if you prefer those.
In China, Singapore, and Vietnam, qualifying education customers could get a pack of four AirTags when purchasing a new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, or iPad Pro.
In India, when they purchase a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, they could either choose the AirTags (4-pack) or the AirPods Pro, but if they opt for either an iPad Air or iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil Pro would be included instead.
However, the promotion in Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand offers just Apple Gift Cards instead.
Keep in mind that these Apple products are not eligible for this promotion, which includes:
- MacBook Neo
- iPad mini
- iPad (A16)
- Desktop Macs
Apple Watch models aren’t eligible for this promotion either despite being recently discounted in the Apple Education Store
With that said, we may see similar offers that would include free, eligible accessories in at least the U.S., and based on how time zones work, we may see the promotion going live in the States as soon as tomorrow. I believe the reason Apple held off on this promotion a bit longer was to avoid the backlash (and possibly lessen the “sting”) after Apple price-hiked its products due to the ongoing memory chip crisis. With that said, we may not have to wait that long for this promotion to roll out.
