Earlier this week, Apple officially launched its newest leasing program, Apple Upgrade, in the U.S., which allows customers to lease the “core” Apple products through monthly payments for 12-, 24-, or 36-month terms, depending on the product category. Apple Upgrade covers iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. iPhone and Apple Watch offer 12- or 24-month leases while iPad and Mac offer 24- or 36-month leases. Here are the starting prices for all products eligible for leasing under the Apple Upgrade program when compared to the (starting) full prices.

As you can see, with longer-term leases, you would pay less per month over the lease term. Vice versa, you’d be paying more per month if you opt for the shorter-term lease. It’s still worth noting that lower-priced products are not covered for leasing through Apple Upgrade, including: the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, the regular iPad, the MacBook Neo, the Mac mini, and the Apple Watch SE.
Once the lease concludes, you have three options on what to do with the device you’re leasing:
- Upgrade and return the device.
- Leave the program and return the device.
- Buy the said device outright with a one-time payment from your Klarna amount, which is calculated by the list price minus all the lease payments you made throughout the term (excluding any remaining discounts or trade-in credit)
All in all, Apple Upgrade will be another great alternative option to get the latest Apple products without having to pay in full outright. You can read more details about Apple Upgrade on Apple’s website.
