The release candidate for macOS 26.7 was released yesterday, and apparently, it has references to a wide plethora of unreleased products, some of which were already predicted or are to be released within the coming months.
Some of these codenames already appeared in prior software updates, while others have made their first appearance in this release candidate. Let’s go through each product category that Apple currently offers:
Home Accessories
- Home Hub (J490/HomeAccessory17,1 and J491/HomeAccessory17,2) – previously been identified as Apple’s upcoming home hub, rumors believe that the home hub will come in two variants: one that has a base (J490) and one that’s wall-mounted (J491)
- HomePod mini (B525) – this accessory will likely be the successor to the current HomePod mini (codename B520) as it has “Argentium” installed
- Home Accessory (J229) – codenamed “J229Architecture”, it was first referenced in iOS 26 last December, and it was discovered by MacWorld. Since the source claimed it would feature multiple sensors that could detect alarm sounds and capture images, J229 could be the rumored security camera that Apple was developing.
- Pebble – Bloomberg previously indicated that it would be the codename for the homeOS operating system that’s destined for the upcoming home hub.
- HomeAccessory17,3 (J595) – a tabletop robot, possibly with a swiveling arm akin to that of the iconic iMac G4’s design.
- Mystery colors – the colors: rose pink, silver, space gray, and starlight could be offered in any of the smart home accessories above.
- Audio Accessory Visual Reasoning – the string in the code: audio_accessory_visual_reasoning string, which could be destined for the home hub.
Headphones
- AirPods with Cameras (B790) – Bloomberg previously indicated that B790 would be the codename for the AirPods with camera.
- Beats (B518 and B522) – these would be the codenames for the future Beats headphones model.
- AirPods Pro 4 – the release also references “AirPodsPro1,4”, which could be the fourth-generation AirPods Pro that will succeed the AirPods Pro 3 (codename “AirPodsPro1,3”). Additionally, there are references to AirPod3,5.
iPhone
- These codenames were previously discovered in iOS 27 code.
- iPhone Air 2 (V62) – expected to launch in spring 2027.
- iPhone 18 Pro (V63) / iPhone 18 Pro Max (V64) – expected to launch next month (September)
- iPhone 18 (V67) – expected to launch in spring 2027
- iPhone Ultra (V68) – expected to launch next month (September)
Mac
- MacBook Pro (J804) – entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro that’s expected to be updated with an M6 chip in the fall.
- iMac (J833 and J834) – next update for the iMac expected in the fall, likely with an M6 chip
- MacBook Pro – the codenames: K114c, K114s, K116c, and K116s could reference the redesigned MacBook Pro models with tandem OLED displays.
iPad
- iPad mini (J510 and J511) – next update for this iPad could come in the fall with a water-resistant design and OLED display
Headset
- Headset (N109) – this release also references N109; it’s unclear whether this codename is for the third-generation Vision Pro, as Bloomberg previously indicated, or a cheaper version of the Vision Pro, as The Information claimed. It was reported that the lower-end Vision product was canceled last year.
Apple TV Remote
The release also mentions ATVRemote1,5, which could be an updated Apple TV remote that will be included with the next-generation Apple TV, as rumors previously suggested.

As you may know, Apple has had at least one event every fall to introduce new iPhone models, and we expect to see the iPhone 18 Pro models and the anticipated iPhone Ultra foldable next month. Apple could possibly hold at least one more event to announce new MacBook Pros, iMacs, iPad minis, or even a new lineup of smart home accessories. This fall will certainly be Apple’s biggest season in years.
