Just a few days after the release of watchOS 27.0.1, Apple has started rolling out iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1 to the public. This update comes two weeks after the release of iOS 27.0 and iPadOS 27.0 to the public, which include options to adjust the intensity of Liquid Glass, Siri AI, new Screen Time options such as Time Allowances for each category of usage and Screen Time Schedule, separate volume controls for Ringtones, Alarms, Timers, and Notifications, improved cleanup in photos, a new extend tool for photos, spatial reframing, and more.
This update is expected to bring more stability and a better experience, especially for iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max users who are currently facing issues with Face ID and frozen UI.
According to Apple’s Release Notes,
“This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone, including fixes for the following issues:
- iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may unexpectedly restart when Face ID fails to authenticate
- A color artifact may appear on photos captured at 2x under certain lighting conditions at f/1.48 on a small number of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices
- Opening Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously may cause the touchscreen to become unresponsive”
Do note that this update is available for all devices that support iOS 27 and iOS 26, and not just for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Apple keeps refining the software experience with every update, whilst also fixing security issues. However, Apple has not published any CVE entries on its Security Update webpage, which could suggest that this update is simply for fixing bugs on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Along with iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1, Apple also rolled out macOS Golden Gate 27.0.1 and visionOS 27.0.1 with bug fixes. iOS 26.7.1, iPadOS 26.7.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 are also out with one security fix.
